I’m partial to this modern pub—because it’s mine. It has an OG look, like an English pub, but really it’s modeled after a tavern. It’s filled with hand-drawn portraits of New Yorkers—think Sonia Sotomayor, Harvey Milk, and Anthony Mason. We try to elevate our drinks using ingredients like Earl Grey tea, almond, and even fresh horseradish. Order the piña colada. Hands down, it’s the best in the world. A lot of cocktail bars won’t carry blenders behind their bars, which I’ve always thought was silly. I’m Puerto Rican—the piña colada is the national drink of my people. And this is the Lower East Side—it’s a Puerto Rican neighborhood.
