Он находится совсем рядом с Гелатским монастырем, но отгорожен от него каньоном и небольшой горой. Попасть сюда из Кутаиси даже проще, чем в Гелати - Моцамета ближе. Некоторые ходят сюда из Кутаиси пешком через рионскую дамбу. А вот из Гелати добраться сюда сложнее - сперва надо вернуться на основную трассу, пройти несколько километров на Кутаиси, найти поворот на Моцамета и дойти до монастыря. Несложно, если есть машина, а вот пешком утомительно. Монастырь это маленький, не такий информативный, как Гелати, и по сути является приложением к Гелати.

According to the legend the monastery was constructed on the place where Muslim aggressors executed David and Konstantin Mkheidze, Georgian princes, who refused to accept Islam.
