Arena is the most famous attraction in Pula. It was made between 27 BC – 68 AD and is among the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the World. It is the best preserved ancient monument in Croatia.

The most famous and important monument, the starting and ending point of every sightseeing tour is the Amphitheater, popularly called the Arena of Pula, which was once the site of gladiator fights. It was built in the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, at the same time as the magnificent Colosseum in Rome.

The Arena in Pula is definitely one of the most famous monument in Pula. Situated on the Pula's Riviera, it was built in the 1st Century by the Roman Empire. Back than it hosted the gladiators fights and animal hunt, now it hosts the Film Festival in July and concerts. In the 18th century, researchers of Roman art became interested in the Arena, partly because it is the only amphitheater to have four rectangular towers built into the outer wall. From June to August is opened from 08:00 - 22:00.
