it is the second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon, built entirely with Romanian construction materials and intellectual effort, at the expense of many human lives lost during the construction work, and also of much suffering of the residents who were displaced from the area to make room for the huge construction; today it houses the two Houses of Parliament, and a Museum of Modern Art.

The Palace of the Parliament is the seat of the Parliament of Romania. Located on Dealul Arsenalului in the national capital city of central Bucharest, it is the second largest administrative building in the world.
