The most gorgeous beach in Birch Bay. The hike-in is a 15min stroll through lucious green trees until you arrive at a beautiful beach home to marine life and tons of driftwood beach-shacks.

Point Whitehorn Marine Reserve Trailhead No Dogs Allowed This hike boasts a great combination of wetland and sea shore. It is doable by hikers of all ages, and most of the trail is wheelchair accessible Made available to the public thanks to the Whatcom Land Trust, Point Whitehorn Marine Reserve is 54 Acres of mature forest, forested wetlands, marine shoreline, and offers visitors access to two+ miles of public beach. Here, visitors may see shorebirds or seal pups frolicking on the shore, and just off shore, loons and cormorants call, as well as gulls. In the surf, porpoises and sea lions play in kelp forests. Offsetting this gorgeous background are the San Juan Islands, while an industrial pier rises to the southeast. There are a few interpretive signs, describing the vegetation and wildlife. There are a few geocaches in here as well, and most are in good condition.

An easy hike to do with kids and even a stroller (just park it at the end of the trail before heading down the stairs to the beach).

A beautiful trail thru the woods and ending at the ocean! Flat trail although it is and decline down to the beach. Only about 3/4 of a mile to the beach. Very serene!
