This range of hills runs south from the edge of Edinburgh and has a great variety of walks and views over the Firth and Forth and round across the Borders. There are several places to park which can be accessed from the A702, just beyond the Edinburgh city bypass. There are souterrains (burial chambers) within the hills.

Endless beautiful walks/cycles can be enjoyed in the Pentlands. The Railway Hut is situated at the foot of the southern end, making it an ideal base for walkers or mountain bikers alike
