FIRST ORGANIZED HOSPITAL KNOWN. THIS IS WHERE THE FATHER OF MEDICINE HIPPOCRATES WAS PRACTICING. THE TEMPLE OF APPOLO IS ALSO HERE AS WELL AS BEAUTIFUL NATURE SARROUNTS THE AREA.

This is the oldest historical site on Kos, only discovered in the 1950's. It is believed to be the first hospital in the world, dedicated to the Greek God Asklepios. It is a very large site, with lots of steps, but the views across to Turkey at the top are worth it! Closed on Mondays, as are all historical sites.
