"...The Gothic St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral is one of the few to receive the designation “Imperial Cathedral” (Kaiserdom). From 1356 onwards, according to the Golden Bull of Charles the IVth, kings were elected here. Between 1562 and 1792 ten monarchs were crowned emperor here in front of the coronation altar."

The Imperial Cathedral of St. Bartholomew in Frankfurt am Main is the largest religious building in the city. Built between 1250 and 1514. From 1562 a total of ten German emperors and kings of the Holy Roman Empire were chosen or crowned in the imperial cathedral. For only 3 EUR you can climb the cathedral tower over 328 steps. From the observation deck at a height of 66 meters, you can enjoy an unprecedented view of the surrounding (new) old town with the Römer and Paulskirche with the famous skyline in the background, as well as the Frankfurt Museumsufer am Main.
