A short walk through a manmade tunnel is the highlight of this unique, family-friendly trail located just 20 miles east of Zion National Park. The cave-like tunnel/Belly of the Dragon was originally created as a water culvert under HWY89 but over time drainage from upper canyon water flow has carved the sandstone walls and created a beautiful rippling tunnel prime for exploring. This is such a great adventure with kids so bring the whole family and have some fun!

This tunnel under scenic Highway 89 leads up a dry streambed to a secluded natural amphitheater, which sometimes has waterfalls in the Spring.

Only stop if you happen to be taking the 89 South to somewhere else. This is a drainage under the 89 and only worth the stop if you are going that way.

Very short hike to a large cave, maximum time spent here 30 minutes. Very family-friendly with one-of-a-kind views. We suggest guests combine this with Moqui Caves to get the most out of their time in Kanab.

Super cool manmade tunnel to hike through just to the east of Cane Beds and south of Mt. Carmel Junction. Photo by @zionadventurephotog
