An adventurous drive and stunning walk through native forest through to a ridge directly looking across to the Rob Roy Glacier. If conditions are right you can even see and hear chunks of ice breaking off. Reasonably easy walk, take a picnic and water and allow the best part of a day. No need to go to the West Coast glaciers after this!

A popular day walking track, spectacular views of the lake. It's fairly steep and takes a while approx 6 hours to walk but worth it.

If you can hike we recommend you take this switch back track to the top of Mount Roy. It is 16 km roundtrip, and takes about 5-6 hours total. You will reach the top of Mount Roy at 1578 m and gain stunning views of Lake Wanaka and the surround area.
