Food: The Warf in Pass-a-grill is one of our favorite holes-in-a-wall with great seafood and views. Pass-a-grill is also a great place to view the sunset and hangout all day at the beach. The Bodega in downtown St Pete has some of the best Cuban Sandwiches around. We have a few menus from our favorite places in the apartment for you to look at too.

Aquariums: The Florida Aquarium is beautiful with tons of cool exhibits. Also the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is great (home of Winter the Dolphin from Disney's A Winters Tale. Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota is really nice too.

Water Sports: If you want to jet ski, etc. go to John's Pass. They have a ton of restaurants but also places to rent equipment. You can also charter a fishing trip from there.

For natural beaches I recommend Ft DeSoto St Park or Honeymoon Island St Park. Both are in Pinellas and have an entry fee, but there's no high rises or buildings really and both have been voted one of America's best beaches.

For Scenic Florida rivers we recommend kayaking the Weeki Wachee (spring water about 1 hr north) or Hillsborough River (Black Water about 1 hr east). Weeki Wachee also has a cool Mermaid show and you can swim in the springs. And Hillsborough River has great hiking trails. Boyd Hill is also an amazing nature area in St Pete, 15 minutes from apartment.

Neighborhoods
Cute towns: Downtown St Petersburg is one of our favorite places, but for something smaller I like Gulfport (open air market on Tuesdays), Dunedin and Tarpon Springs (Greek food!!). These are all very walkable and adorable. Ybor City is in Tampa and has a great spanish/french vibe with wonderful food. Its also has a great night scene with clubs, etc.
