Interesting place, good to walk around, learn about plants, has a cafe. They also do a range of educational courses.
The city centre botanic gardens are a lovely place to spend time. Take along a picnic; its a lovely place to relax outdoors.
Worth a visit anytime of year (beautiful redwood trees and loads more) but especially recommend a visit in late June/July.
