The Bargello Museum is undoubtedly one of the most important Florentine museums. Inside it is preserved mainly sculptures, including the famous bronze of Donatello's David.
Dedicated to Medieval and Renaissance art, the Museo Nazionale del Bargello is located in Florence’s historic Palazzo del Podestà. It was established by royal decree on June 22, 1865—Italy’s first national museum.
When all museums are full of tourists, you can take the chance to visit Bargello, the first government palace, then it became a prison. Inside you can now see the small Donatello's bronze David.
