Nice cozy place in the basement of an old goverment building. The food here is very good and homemade, you can try danish Smoerebrød or an exellent brunch. The courtyard is very nice to enjoy your food. A little pricy, but quality cost.

Here you can try the traditional danish 'smørrebrød' for lunch, or enjoy a good quality staek for dinner :) This is not a budget-friendly place, but the quality of the wine and food is really good, and definitely worth a visit if you like good food. (If visiting on a weekend night, it's probably a good idea to make a reservation beforehand).

Restaurant Rådhuskælderen is located below Roskilde's old town hall, 50 meters from the Cathedral. For lunch, they serve sandwiches, breakfast plates, steaks from grill, salads, sandwiches, etc. In the evening they serve a wide selection of appetizers, main courses and desserts, including grilled steaks, the fish of the day, the menu of the month and more. In the summer there is served in the courtyard, which is located between the old town hall and the cathedral. Absolutely wonderful garden and great for lunch in the summer time. It has a perfect location next to the cathedral, but for some reason it has not been discovered by tourists and is very much a place for locals. It can get busy in the weekends in the summer time, so reservation is advised. Food is traditional danish lunch (smørrebrød etc.)
