Nestled in the breathtaking Lehigh Gorge, this Victorian town is teeming with history, romance and family fun. Jim Thorpe is located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania about 80 miles (130 km) north of Philadelphia and 100 miles (160 km) west of New York City. It is historically known as the burial site of the body of Native American sports legend Jim Thorpe. It is said to be haunted and home of the Disney movie "the Haunted Mansion."

Jim Thorpe is an historic Victorian town located in the Lehigh Gorge. It has a walkable downtown area with shops, restaurants, wine tastings, and entertainment. There are local tours of this historic town and local landmarks like the Asa Packer Mansion and Mauch Chunk Opera House.
Historic quaint town with museums, galleries, cafes, and antique shops. There is a jail tour, trolley tour and check out the great shops on Broadway (the main street), walk historical Race Street, take a train ride or do the Asa Packer Mansion tour.
Jim Thorpe is a very historic town. A must go place if you visiting Poconos. A historic train ride with the beautiful scenery. Nice restaurants in town.
