Great place for mountain biking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter!
Brainard Lake is a still relatively less travelled entry point into the Indian Peaks (say compared to Estes Park or Hessie). And the views don’t disappoint, as you’re starting at 10,000 feet. Lake Isabelle is a favorite and closest, and for those up for a longer hike; keep going to Buchanan Pass and…
Beautiful recreational area. Many hikes, snowshoeing and cross country skiing trails.
So many beautiful hikes all ranging in difficulty and distance. Hike to lakes, discover magical views of the continental divide, and explore! About a 40 minute scenic drive from our cabin up along the famous peak to peak highway.

“The Mining Museum is open Friday-Sunday 11am-5pm, June-Oct. and is free to the public, totally worth a visit. Knowledgable staff who know their history and great play area for kids with pioneer dress up, and water play space.”

“Ok, this is my favorite local hike. Great views and in the 70's the property had a recording studio where Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Crosby Still Nash and Young, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel and John Lennon, to name a few, recorded albums. It burnt down but has been rebuilt and now is housing for artist in residence. Lots of history and a really beautiful location. Kind of a newer open space so not as discovered as other spots....”
