Famous local jams and jellies plus whimsical shop and massive out door art installations. Worth a trip!
Want to make your vacation unique? There is no way to describe what you will see here... okay, I will try... think whimsy and sheet metal, with a splash of junk yard cheque.
Nervous Nellie’s Jams and Jellies in Deer Isle is a fun spot for people that, well, love locally made jams and jellies - but also for kids and adults that enjoy the unique, imaginative, funky side of life - including sculptor Peter Beerits’ Nellieville village.

“There is a gorgeous, secluded beach in East Blue Hill called Curtis Cove. Drive into Blue Hill on 172, take a left onto 176, go past the East Blue Hill Library (quaintest library ever), down a hill and usually there are a few cars on the side of the road on the right. This is a more quiet, downeast type beach, you can swim, picnic, look for crabs, rocks to climb on, but it’s not a sandy beach with a restroom and snack shack if you get our drift.”

“Employee owned, this convenient little market, like the "Burnt Cove Market" is your go to for your basic kitchen, cooking and alcohol needs. Pick up an "Island Advantage" while you're there - a local publication that has info on local events and politics. ”

“Sunset Acres Farm Located at 769 Bagaduce Road, Brooksville, ME, 04617 Sunset Acres Farm makes a large variety of different goat cheeses, but all of it is made using the old-fashioned European method of hand-ladling curd into cheesecloth bags or into individual forms. Located on the banks of a tidal saltwater river, they milk about 100 Saanen, Alpine and Nubian dairy goats, all selected for their excellent tasting milk. Because they stagger their breeding program, they are able to milk at least some goats year round, though the main production is spring and summer. Purchase this delicious Sunset Acres goat cheese spread at Tradewinds Grocery at 15 South Street in Blue Hill....”
