This is a great way to see a wonderful historic national monument and the old Point Loma lighthouse. The scenery is absolutely stunning but the hills can be a little challenging for people who have a hard time walking. There is a charge to get in.

A must go if you stay in our studio. Great views of San Diego. You wont regret it. Bring some comfortable clothes if you want to hike a couple of hilly miles.

“Lovely place to explore. Lots of museums, gardens, and beautiful Spanish architecture everywhere. Make sure to take the Balboa park walking tour. There is a paid and self-guided tour. Beautiful at night and don't forget to take amazing pictures. ”

“The San Diego Zoo is world famous for not only its exhibits but also for its contributions to the natural world. The Zoo, located adjacent to downtown San Diego in Balboa Park, is 100 acres in size. It is well known for its lush, naturalistic habitats and unique animal encounters and is home to more than 3,700 rare and endangered animals representing approximately 660 species and subspecies and a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 plants. It is viewed in several ways, first and foremost by walking along pathways, into aviaries, and through bioclimatic zones. There is a 35-minute Guided Bus Tour that gives a good overview of the Zoo.”

“Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is 2,000 acres of coastal state park located in the community of La Jolla, off North Torrey Pines Road. Although it is located within San Diego city limits, it remains one of the wildest stretches of land (8 km²) on the Southern California coast. The reserve consists of a plateau with cliffs that overlook Torrey Pines State Beach, and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds.”

“South of the OB Pier is Sunset Cliffs, one of the most photogenic sunset spots in all of San Diego. Between the cliffs, surf and sun, the photo opportunities are only limited by your imagination. In the photos, you’ll see our photo tour of a fabulous sunset on a high wave/ high tide day. The daytime blue fade to an orangey red sunset, and then the purples return once the sun drops over the horizon. Long story short, red is a short wavelength and purple is a long wavelength of light. The short wavelengths of light get scattered by the clouds and haze at sunset which creates which causes the orange, and red pallet. Once the sun sets over the horizon, only the longer purple wavelengths are able to bend around the curvature of the Earth.”
