You probably wouldn't want to buy any livestock whilst on holiday in West Cumbria but Mitchells also hold a weekly Household Goods Auction. Viewing is on Wednesday afternoons and the auction sale is on Thursdays. Going to the auction is always an interesting experience and you might just bag a bargain to take home with you! There's also a good cafe there (Viva!) which does hot & cold drinks and tasty snacks & cakes.
