Why would you want to eat Austrian food in Berlin? Because it's generally done well and tastes better than a Currywurst. Pricier, not over the top, with a relaxing space and quiet outdoor seating. Go for the huge but tender Wienerschnitzel (veal or pork) or my favorite, Tafelspitz (braised beef in two courses). For desert, absolutely save room for Kaiserschmarrn - an incomparable Austrian "pancake" - chopped up and served with powdered sugar and plum preserves.

Jolesch is an Austro-Hungarian restaurant with Kreuzberg charm and great great wines! Very classy still friendly and easy-going.

Austrian cuisine, authentic atmosphere. Dark wooden Floor, dimmed lights and friendly waiters. And yes, good "Schnitzel"!
