It's a Roman Theater! Climb up to the top, sit down, and watch the crazy traffic in Amman and the Citadel in the distance. Oh, and they do concerts in summer.
Amman's Roman Theatre is a 6,000-seat, 2nd-century Roman theatre. A famous landmark in the Jordanian capital, it dates back to the Roman period when the city was known as Philadelphia. The theatre and the nearby Odeon are flanking the new Hashemite Plaza from the south and the east respectively, while the Roman Nymphaeum is just a short stroll away in a north-westerly direction.

This Roma Theater, step back 2,000 years in time. The visit to the ruins of amphitheater was fascinating. It once held 5,000 spectators, and I was told it is still used today for theater and entertainment. Cascading layers of steps leading to the new age stage was a beautiful fusion of past with the present. A must visit place for any tourist.
A roman theatre carved into the side of the mountain. Down the street from the Citadel!
