The rails to trails proceeds down the Chattahoochee River to Fort Benning on the South and to Flat Rock Park to the North. Bikes can be rented at Ride On Bikes located on Broadway.
15 miles of paved walkway starting in bustling downtown area, transitioning to peaceful woods and open fields - all hugging the banks of the Chattahoochee River. Cross the pedestrian bridge on 14th street for a walk on the Alabama side (offering a beautiful view of Columbus!) Another good starting…
The Columbus River Walk runs from Fort Benning to Pine Mountain. Take a walk and enjoy the sun, or go for a long bike ride!
A great place to unwind big time and enjoy nature along with the river cascading over rocks creating white water rapids, as well wildlife everywhere from birds, to pets to fish and insects, not to mention the many historic mill sites along the river.
Fabulous part of Columbus - you can simply go for a walk or be adventurous and white water raft or zip line to Alabama and back!
