About two hour's drive over the border into Michigan, but well worth it! An incredible day trip in nice weather. Art, flowers, food, and more!

Frederik Meijer Gardens has a fair number of indoor and rain-friendly activities, including the butterfly gardens! If the forecast calls for rain all day this is one of the better options in our opinion. Take a look at the website and see if it is for you.

www.meijergardens.org. Botanical Garden and outdoor sculpture park. DON'T MISS THE HUGE AMERICAN HORSE STATUE based on Da Vinci drawings! Ample parking available on site. Expansive 158 acres for walking/hiking, full of flowers and sculpture, historical Michigan Farm barn and garden area, new Japanese Garden with hiking all around the lake, trolley rides, outdoor concerts in the summer, children's water play and education area about the five Great Lakes, Indoor desert plants garden, souvenir store, indoor cafe, Tropical indoor garden, indoor spring Butterfly exhibit. About 15 minutes away.
