“Our neighborhood is residential and quiet. You will see neighbors mostly walking their dogs or going for a run. Within a short walk, we have a plethora of restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping. The district we are in is called the Miracle Mile. The original developer from the 1920s, A.W. Ross envisioned that the Wilshire corridor to be focused more on car traffic than foot traffic. This created the first left turn lanes and timed street lights in the United States. Businesses along the Wilshire corridor were also required to have facades and signage that were easily readable through a car’s windshield and parking lots. One of the most well known historical buildings from that time is the 1939 Streamline Moderne May Company Building at Fairfax and Wilshire. It is currently being refurbished to house the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The dominant housing architecture of the area is Mediterranean and Spanish. There are also English Tudor, American Colonial Revival, French Revival. One notable piece of architecture in the area is the 1937 Dunsmuir Flats. It stands out from everything else because of it’s timeless modern architecture. ”

“By far my favorite Pastrami or Corned Beef Sandwich in Los Angeles. Very simple environment but great quality food. Order the Sky High...and get a fresh pickle too!”
