Spend the day at the beach. Accessible by car, bus (5 min walk), ferry through the creek (at our doorstep) or bicycle on the sea wall. We recommend ferry or bike to get there! Bike rentals close by!
The most populated beach in Vancouver , but surrounded by great bars and restaurants.
This is the sunset spot of Downtown Vancouver. Go visit English Bay around the time that the sun goes down and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of sunset watchers on the beach.
Oceanfront English Bay centers on one of the city's loveliest and busiest beaches. Part of the West End neighborhood, English Bay offers shopping and high-end restaurants, but is also a popular outdoor area where people come to walk, bike, rollerblade, or hang out with the public art…

“ Known for its whistling Steam Clock and mix of souvenir shops, indie art galleries and decor stores in Victorian buildings. A trendy food and drink scene includes chic cocktail lounges and restaurants serving everything from gourmet sandwiches to local seafood. Hip eateries also dot the neighboring Downtown Eastside area, while the up-and-coming Railtown district is home to edgy fashion studios.”

“Under Vancouver's favorite geodesic dome (OK, it's only one), this ever-popular science showcase has tonnes of hands-on galleries and a cool outdoor park crammed with rugged fun (yes, you can lift 2028kg). Inside, there are two floors of brilliant educational play, from plasma balls to whisper dishes. Check out the live critters in the Sara Stern Gallery, the bodily functions exhibits in the BodyWorks area, then fly over a city on the virtual-reality Birdly ride ($8 extra).”
