This road will take you to the top of a 14,000 ft. peak. Please make sure you are well hydrated before and during your visit to this peak. Altitude sickness is no joke.
Want to make it to the top of mountain without the hiking? You can drive to the top of Mt. Evans (in Summer). Don't be fooled, though, it may be 80 in Silverthorne and only 40 at the top of Mt. Evans.
Approximately 2 hours from Denver, you can be on the highest paved road in the country - Mount Evans is one of our famous 14ers - peaks above 14,000 feet. Full Disclosure: Planning our first visit in 2020. ;-)
The only 14ner you can basically drive to the top. The drive is stunning and there are usually lots of goat and ram sightings. There’s also lots of hiking all around here - download the alltrails app and see! FYI the drive all the way to the top closes in early September. You can still get pretty…
Highest paved road in North America. Nick named: “Oh my God” road. Amazing views.

“Historic gold mill in Idaho Springs. Pair this tour with lunch or dinner at Beau Jo's pizza in Idaho Spring and a ride on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Great for kids and families.”

“The most popular restuarant in town for sure! Amazing BBQ, my standing order is the pulled pork sandwich and creamed corn. There are inside and outside dining areas!”
