The Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area, an Adirondack Park unit of New York's Forest Preserve, straddles the Essex County-Warren County line in the towns of Ticonderoga, Hague, Horicon and Schroon.

This lake/state park has so much to offer and just a few miles from camp.

One of the Adirondacks greatest gems! Pharoah Lake is the largest lake in the Adirondacks without road access. Hiking trails lead to six leantos.

A true gem located only a 5 min drive from this cabin. From the parking area, it's about a 3 mile level hike to the lake, and then another 2+ hours up Pharoah Mt. I would not attempt hiking the mountain unless you are an avid hiker (bring poles). The trail around the lake offers 6 lean to's for day trips/fires and enjoying the tranquility.

We love this area because it is not heavily used and there exists a wide variety of trail and experiences. Short hikes, long hikes, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, mountains, ponds - anyone can find a trail to suite their mood. Grab a map and explore!
