The Snowking Castle opens March 1st and last until March 31st. It is situated on Great Slave Lake and is constructed of snow and ice. It is very impressive. There are events held there every weekend and some week nights (bands, plays, raves, etc.). General entry is $5. Special events cost more. Long John Jamboree happens one of the last weekends in March. There is ice carving, dog sled races, bonfires, fireworks, beer garden, and so much more.

One of the most unique experiences Yellowknife offers in March is the Snowking’s Winter Festival. It’s a 2-story castle built of snow and ice on a frozen lake!

Our winter festival in March, means an ice castle on Back Bay. There is a fee to enter, but it is a fun thing to do.

Only open in March, this is a winter long creation and a must see if you're here in March. It's literally an ice castle.
