Open Year-round, but the trail is not maintained through the winter, so wear your snow boots and watch your step. Like Spearfish Falls, Roughlock Falls is near Savoy and is uniquely beautiful. I recommend visiting both if you visit the area. Address: Savoy, SD 57783 [About 14.5 miles south of Spearfish, SD along the scenic Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway.]

It’s beautiful! You can park in the upper parking lot and walk just feet away to the Falls. You can park in the lower lot and take a nice 1 miles walk on a maintained trail to see flowers, fishing pond, and get some exercise. You will end at the bottom of the falls, cross the bridge to walk to the top of the falls. Nice picnic area too!

A mile from Savoy in Spearfish Canyon, either drive up to falls and picnic area, or park at Forest Service lot and enjoy the beautiful 1 mile hike to the falls. A great, easy hike with amazing beauty all around.
