Best way to reach Stockbridge is via the walkway on the Water of Leith. Along the way you will find this charming building over a natural spring - a temple to Hygieia, the Greek Goddess of Health.

Riveside walk along the stunning water of Leith. This is a real gem. Hard to believe it's in the middle of the city. Great place for a jog, evening walk, morning chillout with a coffee or walk along to the Modern Art Gallery... always proud to show people this particular find

The building was designed by the painter Alexander Nasymth in 1789, and the statue inside represents Hygeia the Greek goddess of health.

away from the usual tourist spots this is something a little more unusual and the walk along the water of Leith is great, continue on west to reach Dean village and the Modern art gallery

There is a great walk along the water of Leith, starting at Saunders street. You can pass the famous St Bernards Well and the route takes you to the Gallery of Modern art - or you can continue all the way to the end of the city!

“ The Innocent Railway path runs from the Newington/St Leonard's area under Holyrood Park via Duddingston and Craigmillar to Brunstane in the East of the city. It is one of Edinburgh's extensive off-road pedestrian cycleways and part of the UK-wide, National Cycle Network's Route 1 (NCN1). ”
