The Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden is a nonprofit botanical garden and nature preserve located on the 4 mile scenic route off of Route 19 at 27-717 Old Māmalahoa Highway, Pāpa'ikou, Hawaii, Hawaii.

One of the best tropical gardens you go to, admission is $20/person and worth every penny! The gardens, Akaka falls and Rainbow falls are all in close range if you want to make a day out of waterfalls and flowers.

“Take a pleasant self-guided walk through lush tropical vegetation to scenic vista points overlooking the cascading Kahuna Falls and the free-falling Akaka Falls, which plunges 442 feet. Stop to pet the goats on the way there at Honomu Goat Dairy.”

“The volcano is still active with steam vents and a crater lake. Up to date info about hiking, places of local interest, and an historic military camp.”

“This is the largest local farmers market located across from Hilo Bay. There are souvenirs as well as groceries. Located in downtown Hilo so lots of restaurants, shops, and entertainment is within walking distance.”

“Located in Hilo, this is approximately a 25 minute drive from the guesthouse. Easy to access and view. Can climb stairs to the top but not required to enjoy seeing the waterfalls. Plan for 15 - 45 minutes here. ”

“One of the most unique spots in the island. Water World was filmed here. 4 wheel drive required to go down into the valley. Use caution.”
