Brúarfoss ('Bridge Falls') is a relatively small waterfall compared to many of its Icelandic counterparts, but its diminutive size does nothing to take away from its staggering beauty. Both locals and seasoned travellers regard Brúarfoss as one of the country’s hidden gems, often labelling it 'Iceland’s Bluest Waterfall.' To get there, you have to be prepared to walk. The only way to see Brúarfoss is by hiking. A visit to Brúarfoss requires a 7 km (4.4 miles) round trip walk and roughly 2 to 3 hours of your time. The waterfall Brúarárfoss is in many ways very different from many other waterfalls in Iceland. The river Brúará runs wide above the waterfall and then the water falls into a narrow crack in the middle of the riverbed, the crack goes a little bit wider further down until it takes in almost all the water coming down the river. This makes the water white and blue, making the colour and the movement of the water dynamic, just perfect for photographing.

Brúarfoss is a beautiful waterfall in a walking distance from the cabin. But refrain from wearing your white sneakers :)
