A short bus ride from downtown out to the ferry. Then right from getting off the ferry you can start the trail from the trail head. It's amazing to get away for the weekend. Plus the ferry ride is spectacular.

A great beach along the SeaWall path. It is very nice as a pit stop. There is a cafeteria open most days here. Tuesdays is drum circle night I believe. A tradition here is to applaud when the sun sets over the mountainous horizon.

This hostel is a great cheap beer bar on the ground floor. It's a special place to hang out and meet new people immediately. Has large picnic style tables and Pitchers of beer for 11$. You can't go wrong or have a bad night. Also, it is a great place to start or end the night as the area, Gastown, is very nice to walk around in and bar/restaurant hop.

My preference is the egg, cheese, smoked meat and tomato bagel in the morning and a classic smoked meat bagel at 3am after a night out. There are a few around town so it's a must to stop at one of these in town.
