Brilliant wood-fired Italian pizza in a tiny room on Bondi Road, just before Waverley Oval. The lightest pastry ever comes in either bianca (cheese) or rossa (tomato) bases. $20 all you can eat Mondays & Tuesdays and a great local vibe. They do takeaway, but it's so fresh, it's worth waiting for a table, even just to hear all that Italian spoken by the guests.

Just behind the Council Chambers on Bondi Road, this is a shady respite from the heat with lawn, barbecues, a walking trail up to the old water tower and cycle path through to Birrell Street. The park adjoins a cricket/football stadium, has distant ocean view and also adjoins a beautiful old memorial garden beside the Council Chambers. The small cafe at the stadium is a nice spot too.
