It is just a 15-minute drive from my place: take Syggrou Avenue toward Sounion. When the road forks, bear left onto Poseidonos Avenue. Follow Poseidonos all the way to Glyfada.

In 1896, it was completely restored with pentelic marble, as an exact replica of the ancient one, with the purpose of hosting the first modern Olympic Games.During the Athens Olympic Games of 2004, it provided the venue for the archery event as well as for the finish of the Marathon Run. Next to the stadium is a beautiful hill, the Arditos Hill, ideal for a walk after a visit to the stadium.
You can either go to Syntagma sq. metro station or bus stops and then walk through the National Gardens to the stadium (7') or take the tram and get off at Zappeion tram stop.

First houses were built in the era of Otto of Greece when workers from the island of Anafi came to Athens in order to work as constructor workers in the refurbishment of King Othon's Palace. You will feel as if you are on a Greek island.
