Food Scene
Local roasters and I've known them since they were roasting coffee in their garage. Some of the finest coffee in town and great atmosphere. They really dialed it into the community and have a great vibe. It's usually packed so not the quietest place to work but great for seeing friends and people watching. Family friendly!

Close to our house (about and mile and a half away) and next to the university. Small coffee shop that is also a local roaster. They are sweet and more relaxed and you get a free refill. Family friendly and a good place to work on computer.

This is the breakfast place to experience in Ashland! The food is amazing, the art and murals are amazing and the mimosas are HUGE! Haha. It starts to get busy around 9:30 and after that you'll end up waiting for around an hour for a table. Totally worth it though.

1149 Siskiyou BlvdThis is the breakfast place to experience in Ashland! The food is amazing, the art and murals are amazing and the mimosas are HUGE! Haha. It starts to get busy around 9:30 and after that you'll end up waiting for around an hour for a table. Totally worth it though.
The chef is trained in French Cuisine but it's a Vietnamese restaurant with a twist. We love it because it's casual and the kids love the food and the environment. I LOVE NOODLES! There's epic everything and, yes, they have tots. I love going to lunch or an early dinner here. My favorite is the Beef Noodle or they have Pho Fridays. So good.

Meat-centric and AMAZING! If you want brunch on the weekends (starting at 10) or a schmantsy dinner, this place is sooooooo delicious! From bone marrow and charcuterie boards to brisket and collards....plus their whiskey and scotch selection is pretty wonderful....it's all delicious!

Live music here most days during the week and have really tasty cocktails (they serve a great version of a Moscow Mule) and tasty food - our favorite are the Dirty Fries that are french fries with big chunks of bacon, toasted sage & rosemary, peppers, and Parmesan. Mmmmmm. Plus, a dear friend designed the interior and it's AMAZING! They also do brunch and lunch and dinner and I call it my "office" because I do a lot of design work on one of the back tables. Love. It.

A lot of our guests like this bar because it has the old-world feel, with bar wenches and honey mead on tap. It's suits the budget and is entertaining and usually has live music. It goes along with the Shakespeare theme of the town.

I say bar, but it's a sophisticated later hang out with delicious cocktails and a glorious wine selection. I would say a more "mature" vibe with amazing food. I was personally on the lookout for the best Manhattan in town, and this is where I found it. They have great selection of spirits and they make their own bitters and have naturally canned cherries (not the dyed yucky artificial ones). I love to go on lady dates here and order a cheese board and drink a nice glass of wine as well....because I looooooove Malbec!

100 Belle Fiore LnThis is a GORGEOUS winery and not far from the house. It definitely feels like you're transported to somewhere in Italy (even though I've never been there - haha). I've gone on a few dates here with the husband, hosted out-of-town clients & gone on girl dates here. It's fun to order several share plates and a flight. Their flights are impressively arranged.
Parks & Nature
This is a given - this park is amazing. There's a Japanese garden, playground, duck pond(s), and hiking trails. Once you get above the playground, there's a network of hiking/walking trails that take you all the way up in the hills. I can get a stroller almost all the way to the reservoir and there's foot trails way beyond. It's peaceful and brings me back to myself. There's a network of pools above the reservoir that the locals call the Fairy Ponds and you can usually find a nice place to dip your toes or get all the way in. There's usually people in the nude up there, so if that's your jam, have at it!

Planning ahead is usually a must, but if you weren't aware, there "could be" some last-minute seats available, and it's totally worth it. It's not all Shakespeare, so check it out!
