Mansfield Battle Park, just 4 miles South of the city of Mansfield preserves the 1864 Battle of Mansfield where some 6400 Union troops faced 10,500 confederate soldiers in April 1864 in what became the last major victory for confederate forces. Museum, self guided walking tour of property and interpretative programs available.
Female College Museum: the First women's college west of the Mississippi. Also housed on the same property is the Clista Calhoun Center., which is now used for event venues, rallies, parties etc.
Don't miss Carthage, TX...its just across the state line about 30 miles. Lots of great shopping on the square and throughout town and of course the Country Music Hall of Fame is a Must See!
