Opatija is a very chic touristy place to be discoverd, I look at it as a Rijeka`s neighborhood as many locals go there for a stroll and coffee at weekends.

The most impressive palace in town. Can be visited inside as there is the Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Litoral.

A cosy little museum with a multimedial showroom with a giant shark and sounds from the sea. Forrest animals on the 1st floor are also a hit for young ones as well as the ship aquarium at -1.

ART CINEMA -proud to be "antiplex" :) Quality projections in an 100 yrs of cinema tradition environment. All movies have subtitles so you can enjoy them in english ( or other original language).

Get on the bus no.2 to go to Trsat ( Castle&Sancturay ) on the canal side.
Get on the bus no.1 to go to Kantrida ( beach and Stadium ), Bazeni Kantrida ( best beach in town under the pools ) on the city side station ( opposite of the canal ).

A small town in our mountain region of Gorski kotar by the lake with bike trails, a walking trail around the lake, horse carriage rides, a boat ride in the summer season ... Beloved by the locals during weekends. 30 min drive from Rijeka; a train connection is available too.
