Food Scene

It's a bit of a hike across the river to find this place but it's a gem of Vietnamese cuisine. I've never had anything that wasn't stellar here and I've been coming for the past 10 years.

Essentials

Basic local grocery store. Not fancy but it's close and has a bit of everything, from king cakes, beer, wine, alligator sausage, to a small but surprising array of veggie & vegan staples.

Great for fancy dinner party stuff, nice wine, prepared foods, etc. Not so much for milk, bread & eggs but great for quick easy gourmet. Not the cheapest, but it sure is pretty in there.

Sightseeing

Beautiful old historic cemetery in the Garden District. There are other cemeteries around that you can tour, but this one is really special (and the neighborhood isn't as scary as other cemeteries.)
