Riverside Boulevard. The Dutch colonial architecture mixed up with the traditional and local use of materials and construction is one of a kind and very telling. Paramaribo is on the world Heritage list. Old wooden buildings and riverside view. Nice walk and restaurants available. Many locals offering handicrafts

Fort Zeelandia is a very historical place in different ways. It is very well kept and updated and you can have a nice dinner and a good drink inside the building.
A handful of impressive stone buildings create this small fort in the shape of a five pointed star. It was a design that the Dutch employed in a number of their colonies including Cape Town and Ceylon. The site itself dates back to the late 17th century where the Dutch first landed on the coast of south America but the buildings are an 18th century evolution. Their design is typically austere dutch featuring red brickwork with dormer windows in the roof. One of the buildings has the date 1748 on the wall whilst another has a coat

In colonial times this was the residence of the governor of Suriname. Nowadays it's part of the presidents cabinet. So the president is not living in it. It's not possible to visit the building inside, however it's beautiful from the outside and near other sightseeing places in Paramaribo.

Apparently ‘the Cathedral’ is the largest wood structure in South America. The left side of the church is leaning slightly. The interior is beautiful with numerous carvings. The church is open all day and is well worth a visit.

Paramaribo's synagogue Neve Shalom (oasis of peace) is located next to a mosque and not far from churches, a symbol of the religious tolerance in this city.
Only in Suriname you can see this! A Synagogue right beside Mosque where religion is not our enemy and respect one an other, the Synagogue in his most precious way as if it was more than a 100 years ago
