Situated in a picturesque village, the Abbey dates from the 5th century and was the epicentre of the whole area of the Sabina in the Middle Ages. Absolutely worth a visit.

Great restaurant, especially for fish but menu is good for non fish eaters too. My Mum has never forgotten a steak she had here. Pizzas are great too. Closed on Thursdays.

Fabulous views over the Sabina countryside from outside this perched village. Make the time to stroll through the small streets. Music festival in summer is very well done and very popular.

Tivoli is an hour's scenic drive and well worth the visit. These gardens have ruins, waterfalls and make for a very enjoyable visit. Steep entrance and exit but worth the climb.

The water gardens of the Villa d'Este are famous with good reason. Try to visit at night on summer weekends for a different atmosphere. Good for children too.
