Sheep and Horses graze, golfers swing, kite-surfers skim the waves. Excellent dog walking on the wide sandy beach at low tide, but it disappears at high tide. The beach at Instow is a dog Mecca whatever the state of the tide.

Sightseeing
Clovelly is a village like no other. Its steep, pedestrian-only cobbled street street takes you past lovingly restored 18th and 19th century cottages down to a thimble-size port. Have a pint in the Red Lion, Matey! You might be clinking tankards with Cap'n R. McGeddon! In the evening after the visitor centre closes, there is no charge to access the Village.

Have a pint in the Red Lion, Matey! You might be clinking tankards with Cap'n R. McGeddon! In the evening after the visitor centre closes, there is no charge to access the Village.
Stunning views of the cliffs pounded by the Atlantic surf. Easy access beach with some sand but mainly rocks. The Wreckers Retreat pub is the favourite local watering hole. Very friendly staff. A real buzz. Parts of the the BBC's "The Night Manager" were filmed just up the coast at Blackpool cottage. Scenes from Disney's Treasure Island were shot at the Quay in 1950. (About 35 minutes drive from Appledore, toll road down to the Quay: £2.50 on some days).
