If you ever celebrate a birthday or anniversary when in Languedoc, my tip is to get yourself pampered at restaurant La Table de Castigno in Assignan. Even if you don’t have something to celebrate, it is still well worth going. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself. This restaurant completely understands how to do so with the best local wines and the finest cuisine using fresh and local products.

Le Petit Pierre is run by chef Pierre Augé, winner of the French edition of Top Chef in 2014. Named after his father, he soon enough was known as “Petit Pierre” to avoid confusion. Hence the name of the restaurant was born: La Maison de Petit Pierre. Here you can enjoy a bistronomique lunch or dinner.

La Perle Gruissanaise is a hidden gem I love to share with you. It’s not a real restaurant where you sit down, look at the menu, and a waiter will come and get your order. In fact, La Perle Gruissanaise is a wholesale seafood seller. You can buy your oysters and other fruits de mer by weight and take it home. Or, and that’s the part I really enjoy, you can eat it on the spot. Including an amazing view over the big blue bay.
