Also known as Mechoui Alley. This is a short street with basic Moroccan snack/restaurants serving delicious, slow roast lamb known as Mechoui. Served simply with bread and a sprinkle of salt & cumin. Mouth watering. Here you can also find the typical Marrakchi dish called Tanjia (not the same as Tagine). Tanjia's are also slow cooked meat dishes normally cooked in the fire of a hammam but these places have special ovens in the ground. Very popular with locals at lunch time. Closed at night.

The iconic Djema el Fna can not be missed. Head there before sunset to enjoy a coffee overlooking the square from one of the many terraces and eat on the square at night. Be ready to be hassled a little by the stall boys who will try to get you to sit at their stall rather than the neighbours. Don't feel stressed. Pick the one you like. Recommendations stall 14 for fresh fish. The famous food stalls of Marrakech. Here you will find everything from authentic street food. Try the local harira (a lentil soup), the snails in pepper broth, some tasty fried fish or even some sheep's brain. Tip: Don't just decide on one stall. Taste your way around the stalls. The tanneries of Marrakech are still run the way they were run 100's of years ago. This place will make you feel like you have stepped back in time. Somewhat of a smelly experience in a slightly rougher part of the medina. Not for the faint hearted.
