Not really a restaruant, rather the hall to a apartment block that sells 6 peso tacos de canasta, basket tacos. Soft steamed tacos that you have to try; but be warned they ain't very healthy.

Traditional Mexican restaraunt that is perfect if your looking for something on the cheaper side. My favourite is the caldo de pechuga; which is chickpea, chicken (hen) breast and rice soup that at 55 pesos fills you up for all day.

Arts & Culture

Mexican police and military forces crushed a peaceful student movement with the October 2, 1968 massacre of demonstrators in Mexico City’s Tlatelolco district. For 25 years the city’s graphic design collective Escuela de Cultura Popular Revolucionaria Mártires del ‘68 has championed their cause through political prints and cultural workshops.

I could tell you about the Fridha Kahlo Museum, just around the corner, but you probably already know about it. So instead if you don't wont to wait in a long queue in the midday sun just pop around to the house where Trotsky met his maker through an ice pick to the head from an agent of Stalin. Fascinating, free and strangley enough for a dead communist's muesem no queue.

I'm not a big fan of Kahlo but as a poltics student I love her husbands work and here you can see his collection of pre-hispanic mini-statues housed in a mini pyramid he had built. The grounds also incude a room dedicated to the work commisioned by the Rockafella family of New York but was in the end cancelled due to the appearacne of Lenin in the murial and Rivera's refusal to remove him.l

Here you can see the Mexico City's main square, the office of local and national government, a big catholic cathedral the Spanish built to show the indigenous who was in charge and of course the pyramids that they built on top of that have recently been opened to the public.
