Bring swimming suits and slippers; Lighthouse Point is the closet beach with great harbor view; Bowman's beach probably has the largest public parking space. Visit Shell Museum (during the day) and J R "Ding" Darling Wild Life Refuge (1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel, closes at 7PM). Eat at Doc Ford's Sanibel Bar and Grill at the crossing of Sanibel-Captiva Road and Rabbit Road. Plan to leave either early or late because of the traffic jam. We left the island around 8 PM.
