Amazing mass of ruins, medieval houses, jewish-roman restaurants. It use to be a popular fish market.A free archeological walk leads you through the ruins till Teatro Marcello, our smaller Colosseum.

Maybe because I love small squares, maybe is it because of its turtle funtains, or its Friulan restaurant (try the San Daniele ham!) or the view you may have into the private yards..

Elegant, charming and quiet. Via Giulia is one of the most beautiful streets in Rome because of its intact baroque and "papal" atmosphere (Pope Giulio II needed a larger street for its coach!)

Nothing has left of its ancient splendour, but its shape. Nevertheless, I suggest having a walk through its paths to enjoy the Nerone House (left) and Aventino (right) for your itinerary to Colosseum

Very good roman restaurant, nice prices. You can try their selection of appetizers. Just I am not sure they have outisde space in summer.... go check :-)

Kind of self-service fish restaurant. can be very full and slow. But you can also ask for a take away portion of fried calamars or baby calamars (moscardini), and taste it outside with a glass of wine

Very informal spot! They have "white" pizza (focaccia) which can be filled with whatever you want. Used to be a bakery, they decided yo "upgrade"! Charme is lost, quality not.
