On early sunday and monday mornings there's a nice market over there (with a small playground) and you can have your applepie and coffe over there. (also a typical Amsterdam café) where you can walk in with two girls at one a clock in the morning, have small talk with the clientele while feeling completely safe.

Because it's one of the nicest street in Amsterdam to have dinner on a terrace on a relaxed summer evening, and finish of by getting a great ice cream at Monte Pelmo. Just go there pick one of the restaurants, they are all nice. Right in the heart of the Jordaan, to get a taste of real Amsterdam daily life.

Because that's what we do, and have been doing for over hundred years; we take a walk in the park, have a drink on the terrace, lay down in the gras, take your small children to the (free) children's pool or to the melkhuis (with a huge playground with terrace) , let your 16th years olds go by themselves at summer nights to the park (no it's not dangerous) and hang with the other local kids in front of the Picasso statue, walk your dog. Meet up at the Blauwe theehuis, watch a free concert...
