Chai Pani is Indian food like you've never had- pure street food! I love their Chai hot or cold, their samosas, and so much more. They also have great mixed drinks and fizzy drinks for the kids- try their Lime Ricky.

This place is the bomb for breakfast. But come early, like around 8am or you will be waiting. They have live music and coffee in their little garden while you wait, so it's not that bad. The breakfast salad or the breakfast sandwich are amazing.

This place is a tiny, authentic Japanese restaurant. We love the salmon/lemon sushi, the garlic eggplant, the ramen with pork belly... Don't get me started. Everything is amazing and they have free barley or green tea! Kids' meals are around $6, and are bento boxes with a healthy amount of veggies and food they will eat right up.

The Bywater is pure Asheville. Bring your dog, get some food from a food truck and sit by the French Broad River with a unique cocktail. You do need to be a member, but you can buy a membership at the door for a minimal price.

This place is so homey, has great music and feels like a genuine irish pub, right in the middle of Asheville. See if they have the Old Time Jam on Wednesdays anymore. That used to be my favorite thing to do before we had kids.

Entertainment & Activities
Splashville is a great place to take the kids (in swimsuits!) to go romp around a public water park for the afternoon. Get some cheap and yummy tacos at Mamacitas and go have a picnic! Dogs are welcome there too.

This is a great place for one parent to go with the kids while the other has some quiet time on the town! We love to come here and the boys can stay for hours. It will take you back, for sure!

Parks & Nature
Bent Creek (there is a map in our home for you to take!) is a great place to go for hiking. Bring your water shoes too, because there are great little places to swim along the way. Lake Powhatan also has a swimming beach but all the geese and their excrement sort of freak me out, honestly. But truly a Western NC hiking experience, with lots of Rhododendron and quiet mountain streams. Dogs welcome there too!

Parking is limited but there is plenty of parking at Harris Teeter, right across the street. HT also has very fresh produce and other things TJ's doesn't have.

Getting Around
This is our nearest bus stop. Do be careful if you walk on Old Haywood road, there are no sidewalks and sometimes people drive pretty quickly.
