There are loads of great cafes and restaurants in Stockbridge, just a ten minute walk along the river. To get to Stockbridge, come out of the flat and go over the bridge, take a left and keep walking ... cross the road straight and take the river walk along straight to Stockbridge ... you'll find lots of shops, restaurants and cafes to enjoy!

Just a great area for getting lost, shopping, a spot of eating and at this time of year, a great atmosphere. This is where the real Edinburgh can be found (outside Dean Village ;)

Essentials
Need I say more? Head for Princes Street (ten minutes from the flat) and you'll see it as you head up Queensferry Road ... if you're visiting, there are great views across Edinburgh once you get there!

If you've got the time, and the energy, head up Arthur's Seat - the views at the top are incredible!

I walk the Walkway every morning, and for good reason! Come out of the flat and go down to the riverside. There is a sign saying you can't walk along, but you can ;) Walk along until you come to a gate with a sign that tells you no entry. Climb round the side! All the locals do this - it's fine, and it's safe. A few minutes further you'll come to a tall fence ... you can either go round it (at the right, which most people do), or you can do what I do and hop over the bridge (you'll need to be nimble!) ... once you're passed these barriers, you can walk along and enjoy the river ... You might see the Kingfisher who lives here, and if you're lucky, Heron might be waiting at the weir ;)

75 Belford RdBoth modern art galleries are a ten minute walk from the flat and I highly recommend both for a visit if you have time - head across the bridge and up to your right ... keep walking as far as you can go (across the big bridge and up round the hill) and you'll come to One and Two on your left and right. Enjoy!
